The Temples
are the House of The Lord, in them we learn of Heavenly Father’s plan of
happiness and perform sacred ordinances necessary to enjoy eternal happiness
first for ourselves then for our dead. We need more temple attendance to
perform saving ordinances for others. Through temple worshipping we will be
reminded of our own covenants we have made with the Lord, and we will be
protected by drawing power from the priesthood to withstand the temptations of
the world. By attending the temple I am helping others receive exalting
ordinances to seal families for ever so one day we can return to the presence
of our Father in Heaven.
“Less than a year after President Thomas S. Monson was called as an Apostle, he dedicated the Los Angeles Temple Genealogical Library. He spoke of deceased ancestors “waiting [for] the day when you and I will do the research which is necessary to clear the way, … [and] likewise go into the house of God and perform that work … that they … cannot perform.” QUENTIN L. COOK “Roots and Branches” April 2014, General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/04/roots-and-branches?lang=eng

“With great effort we urge every soul to
qualify and prepare for the temple experience.” BOYD K. PACKER “The Holy
Temples” Ensign, February 1995. https://www.lds.org/ensign/2010/10/the-holy-temple?lang=eng
“Preparation for the ordinances includes
preliminary steps: faith, repentance, baptism, confirmation, worthiness, a
maturity and dignity worthy of one who comes invited as a guest into the house
of the Lord.” BOYD K. PACKER “The Holy Temple” Ensign, February 1995. https://www.lds.org/ensign/2010/10/the-holy-temple?lang=eng
“Through our efforts in holy temples here
on earth using the authority delegated by the Savior, our progenitors receive
the saving ordinances that allow them to enjoy eternal happiness.” RICHARD G. SCOTT "The Joy of Redeeming the Dead" October 2012 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/10/the-joy-of-redeeming-the-dead?lang=eng
“When men and women go to the temple, they are both
endowed with the same power, which is priesthood power. … Access to the
power and the blessings of the priesthood is available to all of God’s
children.” DALLIN H. OAKS “The
keys and Authority of the Priesthood” April 2014, Priesthood Session https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/04/the-keys-and-authority-of-the-priesthood?lang=eng
“Each
temple is a house of learning. There
we are taught in the Master’s way. His
way differs from modes of others. His way is ancient and rich with symbolism.
We can learn much by pondering the reality for which each symbol stands. Teachings
of the temple are beautifully simple and simply beautiful. They are understood
by the humble, yet they can excite the intellect of the brightest minds.”

“Until you have
entered the house of the Lord and have received all the blessings which await
you there, you have not obtained everything the Church has to offer. The
all-important and crowning blessings of membership in the Church are those
blessings which we receive in the temples of God.” THOMAS S. MONSON “The
Holy Temple—a Beacon to the World” April 2011 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/the-holy-temple-a-beacon-to-the-world?lang=eng
“The world can
be a challenging and difficult place in which to live. We are often surrounded
by that which would drag us down. As you and I go to the holy houses of God, as
we remember the covenants we make within, we will be more able to bear every
trial and to overcome each temptation. In this sacred sanctuary we will find
peace; we will be renewed and fortified.” THOMAS S. MONSON “The Holy Temple—a

“The Prophet
Joseph Smith declared
that in all ages the divine purpose of gathering the people of God is to
build temples so His children can receive the highest ordinances and
thereby gain eternal life.” DAVID A. BEDNAR “Honorably Hold a Name and
Standing” April 2009 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2009/04/honorably-hold-a-name-and-standing?lang=eng
“I have come to
understand better the protection available through our temple covenants and
what it means to make an acceptable offering of temple worship. There is a
difference between church-attending, tithe-paying members who occasionally rush
into the temple to go through a session and those members who faithfully and
consistently worship in the temple.” DAVID A. BEDNAR "Honorably Hold a
Name and Standing" April 2009 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2009/04/honorably-hold-a-name-and-standing?lang=eng
