The family is
the most important organization
the Lord has established on the earth after the pattern of Heavenly Family. New
social standards and rampant moral decay of this day and age are accepting a
new family unit different than the model offered by our Father in Heaven further
deteriorating social structure. Families were established to provide an
environment were individuals can forge relationships between parents and
parents and children, love being one of the first commandments it is within the
family we first exercise this commandment and children learn obedience, and discipline,
respect. Within the family we will learn love, patience, understanding, joy, happiness,
sympathy, support, we will learn to value each other as individuals.
“Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family.” THOMAS S. MONSON “Finding Joy in the Journey” October 2008,
“There is one overarching commandment
that will help us to meet the challenges and lead to the heart of a happy
family life. [love thy neighbor as thyself]" HENRY B. EYRING "To My Grandchildren” October 2013 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/to-my-grandchildren?lang=eng
“That is why I urge those I love to
accept and to magnify every calling offered them in the Church. That choice is
one of the great keys to family happiness.” HENRY B. EYRING “To My Grandchildren” October 2013 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2013/10/to-my-grandchildren?lang=eng
“Parents are taught ways of building
and maintaining close family ties, both in good times and in difficult times.” L. TOM PERRY “The Importance of Family” April, 2003, General Conference https://www.lds.org/ensign/2003/05/the-importance-of-the-family
“Focus our attention on [the family]
the most important organization the Lord has established here on earth.” L.
TOM PERRY “The Importance of
Family” April, 2003, General Conference https://www.lds.org/ensign/2003/05/the-importance-of-the-family
“The father presides in the family and he
and the mother have separate responsibilities, but they are “obligated to help
one another as equal partners” DALLIN H. OAKS “The keys and Authority of the Priesthood” April
2014, Priesthood Session https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/04/the-keys-and-authority-of-the-priesthood?lang=eng
“Whatsoever
thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.” That same authority has been restored in
these latter days. Just as priesthood is eternal—without beginning or end—so is
the effect of priesthood ordinances that bind families together forever.

“Marriage between a man and a woman is
ordained of God and … the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the
eternal destiny of His children” (“The Family: A Proclamation to the World,”
Liahona, Oct. 2004, 49; Ensign, Nov. 1995, 102). DAVID A. BEDNAR “More Diligent and Concerned at
Home” October 2009 General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2009/10/more-diligent-and-concerned-at-home?lang=eng
“Create meaningful family bonds that
give your children an identity stronger than what they can find with their peer
group or at school or anyplace else. This can be done through family traditions
for birthdays, for holidays, for dinnertime, and for Sundays. It can also be
done through family policies and rules with natural and well-understood
consequences.” M. RUSSELL BALLARD “What Matters Most Is What Lasts
Longest” October 2005, General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2005/10/what-matters-most-is-what-lasts-longest?lang=eng
“The doctrine of the family begins with
heavenly parents. Our highest aspiration is to be like them. The Apostle Paul
taught that God is the father of our spirits (see Heb. 12:9)… In the premortal realm, spirit sons
and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His
plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly
experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her
divine destiny as an heir of eternal life.” ROBERT D. HALES “The Eternal Family” October 1996, General Conference https://www.lds.org/general-conference/1996/10/the-eternal-family?lang=eng
